OUR HOUSE, IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR STREET was the working title for this series. Finally they became:

The House of Loss

The House of Imagination

The House of Flight

The House of Love

I used my father's and grandfather's photographs, found material from the web and my own photographs - portraits, family snaps - as source material. I thought of all the different source images, either posed or found, as a palette with which to paint pictures. The work turned into something entirely autobiographical, no doubt prompted by the old photographs. The four final images segue into each other, and can be read from right to left or the reverse, giving different meanings.
