I wanted to take the idea of a conventional, staid still life and take it to extremes using photography.

Abstract Reflections, taken in a small house in a French village called Cipieres, shows the beginning of the 'going wild' effect I eventfully reached, with recognisable jug and bottles, yet with the beginning of disintegrating objects - the oil bottle with stopper hidden on the right, the top of the jar becoming only a red circle.  I waited each day for natural afternoon sunlight through a small window in the sitting room.

Still Life with Duck, Pheasant and Pomegranate is one of a number of pieces that uses candlelight to recreate the doomladen, dark and dense compositions of Dutch and Spanish still lifes.
